Spooky

"New Yorkers were today warned of a 'specific threat' against the city's subway system 'in the coming days.' Mayor Michael Bloomberg said: 'This is the first time we have had a threat with this level of specificity.' He told commuters 'if you see something, say something.' Acting on intelligence about the New York threat, a highly classified operation was carried out in Iraq against suspected al Qaeda operatives, a well-placed U.S. military official told CNN." Link.

I rode the subways today, but found myself on alert. I even called 911 to report a suspicious guy videotaping the Times Square subway station. Video cameras are now illegal on the subways, and this man was carrying a camera bag around his chest, hidden until the train pulled into the station. Then he took it out, ever so slightly, to record while appearing to try to hide the fact that he was recording. Then he didn't get onto any trains. He looked hispanic or arabic, medium build, well groomed. Maybe he was just a shady tourist, but, under the circumstances, I felt I should let the cops make that call.
