Happy Birthday ...

... to this blog. At 11:06 p.m. last year it received its first post, and has been linking to Rudy ever since. 642 posts later, and Sitemeter tells us that since January it's had:

  • 11,952 ............................. Total Viewers
  • 56 .................................... Average Viewers/Day
  • 3:47 ................................. Average Visit Length
  • 394 .................................. Visits this Week
  • 94% to 6% ...................... U.S. to Global Readership
Blogpatrol disagrees, claiming just 11,286 total Visitors, and 3,157 total Hits. Does anyone know the difference between hits and visitors, and why Blogpatrol and Sitemeter register different numbers? Technorati says the blog has had 116 links from 26 other blogs, giving it a "ranking" of 93,165. Whatever does that ranking mean? I'm not yet sophisticated enough to decipher all the numbers, but January and April were obviously slow traffic months, and August saw the most viewers. On the whole, readership is steadily rising, thanks to you! Let's keep growing together. I'm most proud to say that ten old friends have joined me in the blogosphere this year including: Jose and Mayra Humphreys, Dave Ramos, Matt Kruse, Matt and Katy Stevens, Rafael Castillo, Sonya Denyse, and Kevin Young; friendships have been strengthened with Rudy Carrasco, Liz Rios, Noel Castellanos, and Abner Ramos; and dozens of new, "virtual friendships" have begun. Of those, I've had the privilege of meeting live and in the flesh: Tony Sheng, Bob Campbell, DJ Chaung, Steve Knight, Scott McLane, John Liotti, Glen Peterson, Neil Cox, Anthony Bradley, Moyra Stiles, Ben Eash, Ryan Bolger, and Marcus Thorne. To those I haven't yet met, either on- or off-line, here's to the next 12 months of our journey together!
