under PRESSURE

Any Freudian insights here? Normally I loathe David Bowie's music, but the hook to his song "Under Pressure" has been pulsating in my mind for the last hour. So I looked up the lyrics and found these, which I never knew before:

Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking Can't we give ourselves one more chance? Why can't we give love that one more chance? Why can't we give love give love give love? ... Cause love's such an old fashioned word And love dares you to care For the people on the edge of the night And love dares you to change our way Of caring about ourselves This is our last dance This is our last dance This is ourselves under pressure Under pressure pressure

Full lyrics here.

are you thinking what i'm thining...

that will PREACH, pastor del rio

i've got a whole david bowie greatest hits record for you, if you like that one... and Space Oddity (that ground control to major tom song) is eerily prescient...

then again...

have i shared my "U2 was five years ahead of the Emergent movement" rant? go back and read the lyrics to the Achtung Baby album, then reflect on what you read in Mclaren or similar (evangelical) works, and consider...

I feel
like i'm slowly slowly slowly
slipping under
i feel
like i'm holding on to nothing

but back on subject: heck, invite me to something and i'll preach from that bowie song and get thrown out of the church so you don't have to

You have a standing invitation to preach to an audience of at least 1 every time you're in the City. :)
