Historic rivals nurture friendship online

"Playing a video game together allowed Redick and Morrison to blow off some steam, escape hoops talk for a while and, perhaps most important, save a few bucks on cell-phone bills. 'It's so much better,' Morrison emphasized, 'because it's free long distance.'" Link.

Playing video games online (via XboxLive or on a PC) is a great way for me to stay in touch and "hang out" with friends in different parts of the country. My wife and I have close friends in a different country. We get together pretty regularly over the Xbox. Me and the guy hand the headsets over to our wives to let them talk (for free- no long distance charges), and we play games while they talk. I've also had some great fellowship with brothers while playing Halo 2 online. There's lots of cool stuff going on with Christians and gaming... even groups with a passion for evangelizing to other teams that they play online.
